Sisterhood is one of the most important elements of the Kappa Delta Sorority. Here are Pictures and Personal Stories of our sisters and their amazing bond of friendship!
"Sisterhood is many things. It's a warn smile on a cold and rainy day, a friendly hug, a cheerful hello... It's all that a good and lasting friendship is, only better. It's treasured. It's sacred. It's knowing that there will always be someone there for you. It's dreams shared, and goals achieved. It's counting on others and being counted on. It is real."
"My sisters have taught me how to live..."

Freshman year, of course is always scary and stressful at the beginning, and to make things even more scary you put rush on top of all of that. My roommate and I were both rushing, both from the same state, and met each other summer after ninth grade. Lauren and I
weren't close since we hadn't seen each other since the time we met, but ended up being roommates. During rush we talked about which sororities we liked the most and what we could see ourselves in. We had some similarities but also some differences as well. But all through rush we had no idea where we would end up. Turns out we both got KD! We were so excited to be together in the same sorority, and not even knowing we had chosen the same sorority was even more exciting. Through the school year and all the fun events we got to be a part of in KD we became best friends. This past year Lauren and I were roommates again and the strong bond we have from both being KD's will last forever.

The first time my new pledge class and I were lining up to walk into chapter was the first time I talked to the girl who would be my future best friend, Kat! At the time I didn't know it, but after talking for a mere five minutes we both discovered we were from the same town and even knew some of the same people. From the pledge retreat on, we were best friends and I go to her for everything. From advice to pointless conversations, Kat is always there. I am forever glad that I joined Kappa
Delta when I did. It not only brought be closer to countless young ladies but I was able to find my best friend.

When I first came to College of Charleston last year i didn't really know anyone. I had always had a close group of girl friends and was nervous to come to college without them. Immediately after joining Kappa Delta I discovered that I had nothing to worry about. I
found sisters who soon became my best friends. Annie, Ella, and Haley became not only my sisters but some of my best friends for life. We have done so many fun things like traveling to each other's home towns, going to football games, and going to Puerto Rico for
spring break. They are always there for me and we have a great time together. I am so happy to have found such an amazing sisterhood in Kappa Delta!

As rush came to a start, little did I know that the two girls sitting behind me at the first meeting would turn out not only to be my roommates and best friends but also my sisters. I still remember meeting Aylett and Katie for the first time that hot day in August and immediately clicking. We all went through rush not knowing who would end up in what sorority. It was so exciting on bid day when we all had the same shirts and realized that we were going to be sisters for a lifetime.

Last year, my freshman year, I met Sandi Hudson. At first, we didnt really hit it off too well, with our personalities being completely different. With her loud and crazy talk and my laid back, more reserved personality, we didnt really see eye to eye at first. As time went on, our opposite tendencies began to compliment each other and ended up having tons of fun whenever we hung out. Now Sandi Hudson is one of my best friends at the College of Charleston and are even rooming together this year. When rush came around this year, of course I wanted her to join KD but I knew she had to make her own choice. With no pressure from me or my other roommate, Sandi fit right in to Kappa Delta and made the choice to become one of our sisters. I knew she would love it because of her carefree and fun personality and now not only are we best friends outside of Kappa Delta, but also sisters within the sorority.

When it came time to pick my classes for the last semester of my senior year, I realized this would be my last chance to take something completely unusual and fun. Luckily I had two sisters who also wanted to try something new. Katie Wheeler, Lane Nelson and I decided without hesitation that Beginning Ice Skating was the class for us. None of us claimed to be Michelle Kwan, but I thought I was athletic enough to handle the challenge. Little did I know how much I was about to embarrass myself thanks to my clumsiness and complete lack of gracefulness on the ice. On the very first day we were already laughing hysterically at each attempt to perform an assigned skill. I could never have faced the rink weekly without the support of my sisters who tripped and stumbled almost as much as I did. If we weren’t completely terrible I don’t think the class would have been nearly as memorable or the experience with my sisters as much fun. In the end, we planned our final program to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”. I’m not sure if this experience sent me off from college better prepared for the working world like my business classes. It did however prepare me with memories of the best friends and sisters who are with me to begin this new stage of my life.

When I received my Kappa Delta t-shirt on bid day I thought life could not get any sweeter. Little did I know that day I would meet two of my best friends that very day! Kelly and I met through Aylett on bid day and we all had an amazing connection. A few short weeks later, Kelly and I were twins and we were lucky enough to get Aylett as our big! These amazing girls have shown me that things in life will get tough, but when you have your sisters, your true friends by your side, you can do anything! Kappa Delta has not only given me sisters, but it has given me best friends that I know I will keep and cherish for a lifetime!

Kinsey and I became friends our freshmen year, so I can't even describe how I happy I was when she became my Big Sister. She has not just been an amazing friend, but an amazing and unbelievable support system for me when times are hard. She knows that I will return the favor so she doesn't hesitate to help when I or any other sister is in need. She welcomed me with open arms into Kappa Delta and She will always hold a special place in my heart!I love you Kins!

A really great day was, bid day and my suite mate, Sarah Fudge, and I got a KD shirts! Both of our Pi Chis came knocking on our doors, I will never forget this moment for the rest of my life. Sarah and I looked at each other and couldn't resist jumping up and down with excitment! Now Sarah and I are not just suite mates but sisters for life. I am so happy here in KD and I do not know where I would be without each and everyone of these girls. Love Kappa Delta!

My freshman year when a bunch of us younger girls were laying out at the pool at Tori V's. Leslie was begging me to jump in the water with her.. I don't do water and especially when its not that warm. However Carly had just arrived and she agreed to jump in with Leslie, even though they really didn't know each other.. and at that point in time I distinctly remember thinking that those two are going to be best friends.. and of course look at them now. These friendships have lasted throughout my four years here, and will last a lifetime more.
